Macca's Basswax Mix
Aggression and anger are abound in this latest instalment from the irrepressible Macca. In this tense and highly varied mix we witness the opening swagger of 90s throwback rap succumbing to a mind-needling breakdown in Autchre’s ‘Dael’, a stark contrast to the liltingly pleasant and psychedelic guitar of Roc Marciano’s ‘Raw Deal’, before even going so far as to indulge the more Latinate beats of the Karachi Prison Band. As has become his trademark, effortless transition between tracks, genres and cultures represents Macca’s willingness to not just break boundaries, but to act as if they don’t exist. Courtesy of our friends at Basswax, this is well worth a listen for anyone with some time for some gritty beats.
