Weart Festival 2012: Artist Registration Extended until August 15th!
A little while back we introduced you to Weart festival. Weart is an independent festival that serves as a platform to promote and disseminate the work of emerging artists in New Media Art, Graffiti Street Art, Video Art, Words, Photography, Illustration and Fine Arts. The festival will take place during October and November 2012.
Originally the registration deadline for participating artists was July 15th, but it has been extended until August 15! So if you're an artist aged 18+ interested in showing your work, then start by filling out the form here. Showing your work will expose it to a large audience (including press, gallery owners etc.) and there's also great opportunity for networking and idea sharing. Check out the FAQ page on the Weart festival website to answer some of your questions about submitting work.
The curatorial theme is everybody's favorite topic, SEX! As Woody Allen said "I don't know the question, but sex is definitely the answer."
Here's a little motivation to fill out that form and start the (simple) process to submit your work. Each of the seven disciplines will be shown in a different venue in Barcelona. There are some pretty cool venues, check out our overview below.
New Media Art: Mutuo
Mutuo is a cultural center, which aims to produce and diffuse art/artists.

Video Art: MauMau
"Maumau is an old warehouse transformed into laidback lounge club and cultural center. Recently maumau also started a wide range, and very succesful, program in visual arts and short-film projections."

Words: Freedonia
Freedonia is a cultural center with a unique program of film, music, and theater. Great meeting place for creative minds.
